stone at 5027/3610, gatepost, not marked on OS.
In 1988 John Michell discovered* a 3.72 metre (12’) tall “chunky stone” being used as a gatepost to a field near Cripplesease close to Trencrom Hill. Several other large stones are nearby but this was the most prominent; the site is in an area where there used to be several mines and the stone might relate to that activity.
